Q: What’s all this then? Have you got a podcast?

A: Yes

Q: What’s it about?

A: Try listening to it, it’ll only take you 15-20 minutes. Each one has a different topic, plus it’s free.

Q: Any recurring themes?

A: Paedophillia, extreme violence and systematic culling of large swathes of the populace.

Q: Ouch that sounds pretty miserable, would I be better off watching ‘Daybreak’?

A: Don’t worry, it’s quite lighthearted

Q: I heard that you claimed to be official sponsors of London 2012, is that true?

A: Yes.

Q: Sorry, but just how did you get to become the official podcast of the London Olympics?

A: We’re not, but it is true that we claimed it.

Q: Worried?

A: Should we be? (Probably).

Q: I like your podcast, can I be on it?

A: Yes, record yourself asking us a question or stating an opinion, we’ll then talk about it.

Q: Oh no, I want to be there when it’s recorded and join in the banter.

A: Ahh I see, no sorry. That is out of the question.

Q: But it sounds like fun. I want in. Oh please? 

A: No

Q: Why?

A: One of Rich and George’s favourite rival podcasts is the infinitely better ‘Stuff You Should Know’ from across the pond. Presenters Josh and Chuck set out to explain how everything in the world works. They are at over 550 episodes, 4 of which have had guests in the studio. George hates these episodes as they ruin the illusion that Josh and Chuck are talking directly to him, so he vetoes guests on this show.

Q: Boooo, George sounds like he has issues.

A: Indeed

Q: Oh but I’ve never been on a podcast and I want to. Help me?

A: Well firstly, as I said, you can record something for us to playback on the show. Secondly, pay Jellycast £10 and they can host your very own podcast, just like we did.

Q: I would record something but I’m not technically minded enough to record something. What now?

A: Come on, it’s not that difficult. Record something on your computer or phone and email it in to us.

Q: Oh my phone is ancient, I can’t do that.

A: I had a phone in 2003 that could record memos electronically. It also could send email. if your phone is pre 2003 then fair enough, otherwise stop making excuses and get on with it. Honestly, we welcome your input.

Q: I listened to your first episode, what the hell is the intermittent tapping noise?

A: Minor teething problems, Rich was smoking at the time and had his ashtray next to the mic.

Q: Can I rate your podcast anywhere?

A: Yes go onto our iTunes page and rate us.

Q: Ha ha, I know, I’ll give you a bad rating as it’ll be funny.

A: Really?? Will that be helping us? Will it? Please don’t.

Q: I’ve suggested a topic and not heard it yet. Why?

A: We record batches of episodes in 1 go, then release then over a 6-7 week period. Possibly it’s yet to be released. If it was a suggestion that you had recorded, we’d be less likely to forget about it and thus stick it in.

Q: Did you really kidnap Timmy Mallett’s wife?

A: ‘Kidnap’ is a strong word, she came into our possession and we didn’t necessarily expedite her release as quickly as the negotiators would have wanted.

Q: Why don’t you do a live show?

A: Because we’re set up to post podcasts up to Jellycast, a ‘ webcast’ would require a slightly different set up. Plus our download stats are spread throughout the week, there isn’t a perfect time to do it.

Q: It all seems a bit misogynistic, why so?

A: Not so, we abuse a lot of people on the podcast, it stands to reason that a lot of these people will be women, due to the fact about half of the population are female. Chill out it’s probably not aimed at you.

Q: Does Rich actually like the Daily Mail? Methink the lady doth protest too much.

A: No he hates everything about it, especially the people who buy it. If this is you then please don’t tell him.

Q: Hang on, have you really brought out a song that mocks paedophilia?

A: No not really, the song makes fun of the danger of having your words carefully chosen and taken wildly out of context. Rich is not a paedophile and people who listened to the actual episode will have heard the original quote and the insincerity of George’s comment that the quote not be taken out of context in the form of a song. No doubt some people will be offended having not heard the episode, but that’s not our problem and we make no apology for it.

Q: The Podcast seemed to stop on 84 episodes, what happened?

A: Due to logistical issues, we’d been unable to meet up to record. To keep up with the relentless weekly schedule we resorted to Skype. The episodes were good fun to record and it was a relief that we’d kept it ‘alive’. That said, there was a feeling that they possibly lacked the energy and chemistry that a ‘live’ recording had. On a stag do to Munich we recorded a ‘live’ episode and despite the constant interruptions & the fact we were battered beyond belief, the episode was our best in quite a while. We decided instead of flogging the podcast via Skype in order to meet a deadline, we’d just nail a load of them the next time we saw each other and bring out a proper series, like in the old days. (Did you know that Series 1 was all recorded in one afternoon?)

Q: Was Series 1 all recorded in one afternoon?

A: Yes it was.
